Emwa’s Sustainability Commitment

Sustainability has always been at the heart of Emwa Jewelry. I want to take you on an honest journey through my commitment to sustainability.

My commitment to sustainability has deep roots in my upbringing. I was raised in a family that instilled a profound awareness of the impact each of us can have and the importance of living sustainably. It's a value that's been passed down through generations, and it's something I carry with me every day as I create jewelry with a mindful heart.

1. Sustainable Materials:

From the very beginning, I've felt a deep desire to use sustainable materials. I make it a point to use recycled silver and gold in my creations because it feels like the right thing to do. There's no point in using new materials when we have to opportunity to use the recycled option.

2. Switching to Solid Gold:

The transition from gold-plated to solid gold jewelry wasn't an easy decision, but it's a choice I wholeheartedly believe in. It's about crafting pieces that have integrity, ones that can be cherished for generations. Solid gold is an investment, not just in beauty, but in honest, responsible consumption.

3. Re-using Family Gold:

When I encourage you to bring your family's gold into our custom projects, it's more than just a sustainability move. It's about forming genuine emotional connections while having an impact. Bringing your family's gold for custom projects not only adds sentimental value but also allows you to enjoy a proportional reduction based on the weight of the gold you provide.

4. Local Suppliers:

I chose to work with suppliers that reflects my commitment to sustainability. I source from local providers in the US where I live, or in the UK for stones as they provide the most transparent possibilities because it aligns with my values. Supporting local businesses reduces our carbon footprint, and it's an honest way to support our community.

5. Repair Services:

I am proposing to repair broken jewelry because I genuinely believe in extending the lifespan of your cherished pieces. It's an easy approach to reducing waste and it reflects my idea that a piece of jewelry can be a lifelong companion.

6. Eco-friendly Packaging:

The packaging is thoughtfully crafted with sustainability in mind. It features recycled kraft paper on the outside, a linen care card with care instructions held by a delicate golden thread. The pieces themselves are protected within folded glassine paper, and the entire box is sealed with a sticker made from recycled paper and natural ink.We use recycled materials for your unboxing experience because I believe that the first impression should be a genuine reflection of our commitment.

Despite the steps I've taken to make a sustainable impact, my commitment to improvement is unwavering. I'm continuously exploring new ways to enhance eco-friendly practices and reduce our environmental footprint.

I believe that Emwa Jewelry is not just a brand, I created it with the will to reshape consumption patterns and raise awareness about ethical and sustainable jewelry.

If you have any tips or innovative ideas to further our sustainability journey, please don't hesitate to share them with me, I would love to hear them !
